This happened in Plainfeild, CT. I wasn't one of the responders on sceen, as it happened while I was at work in Groton, CT. (Plainfeild,CT is just north of where I uesd to live in Griswold, CT)

The tanker was carring gasoline, at for the "van" - I think it was there to proved sceen lighting.....I don't think it was the Media - however they too were on sceen....lol.

This operation extend to surounding towns within a 50 mile radious. It took place in Plainfeild, then mutal-aid was dispatched for Voluntown VD-Station 56, Griswold FD-Station 55(my station), Jewetty City FD-Station 54, Preston City, Laurel Hill (outside Norwich town line), Norwich FD & Hazmat teams, Groton Sub Base hazmat teams, Gails Ferry FD, and few others providing water supply support & water tanker transports. It was a huge mess that lasted over 12 hours. The entire Interstate (I-395 N & S) were closed down. I think the time of the accident was roughly 2pm and lasted until 3-4 am the next morning before all was cleaned up and Instand Command was terminated.

I was bumbed that I wasn't there......smiles.
