Making assumptions by a photo is a dangerous habit to make Mr Jimmy Lin, with you not being there and considering I was, this was not a surround and drown job.
I agree with Mr Morgan that fireman was on the risk of his own life.First,a nozzle needs at least two firemen as a basic principle.A real story happened in my city is that a fireman who operated a nozzle only by himself was knocked down by the nozzle under only 0.3 Mpa "Water Hammer effect" and got seriously injured on the head;Second,Mr Roth,no one can predict when a structure collapses even it looks very stable seen from outside. There are no signs for most of the collapese those killed firemen inside, the best way to keep firemen safe is stay outside and shoot the fire if there is no sign of living things,as what Mr Morgan said "surround and drown".
OK Steve, thanks! Glad to hear that.
Nick, actually it wasn't in any danger of collapse, it was mostly contents burning near the interior wall. The structure still stands today, nearly two years later in nearly the same condition with the holes patched.
