HAZMAT team conducting investigation of a car that is a suspected mobile meth lab along Ohio's Interstate 71

February 17, 2011 - Interstate 71 (Delaware County), Ohio: a ten mile stretch of roadway was closed in the afternoon when during a traffic stop, a Delaware County sheriff's deputy smelled what was believed to be anhydrous ammonia.

The sheriff's deputy suspected the car was an actual rolling meth lab and removed the vehicle's two male occupants before calling for help from a local HAZMAT team.

According to local news sources, four law enforcement officials, including three Delaware County sheriff's deputies were taken to The Ohio State University Medical Center for treatment.

Two men who were riding in the car involved in the traffic stop were taken to Riverside Methodist Hospital.

Both the law enforcement and the men riding in the car were expected to be OK.

Emergency crews from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the Delaware County Sheriff's Office, the city of Westerville and Genoa and Orange townships responded to the scene.

No arrests were immediately made.
