We are only human being, we need to support each other as a firefighter, the chief is in the wrong place and at the wrong time, as we go along we learn from our mistakes......God Bless and staysafe to all members.

Indeed. Glad he is not injured. Life passed before his very eyes that day...

the small dept where i am at..every one is needed on the fire ground..even our chief gets dirty

Perhaps he isn't in command.  In some of these small volunteer departments, if a chief isn't in command and yet he is on the fireground, he might be needed elsewhere. "Every man's a rifleman", isn't that how it goes sometimes?

Now if my optimistic observation is wrong and he IS supposed be in command, I have no idea what is going on. In which case, I am speechless.
