Thanks Chris. This was a home that could have benefited from residential fire sprinklers, as most homes can. Unfortunately residential sprinklers are not the norm yet.
I beleive that is a neighbor giving the officer information about the residents of the house who were not home at the time. As far as the cause, I am not sure what they ever determined was the cause.
Hi Chris, Thanks for the information. Wow, how awful. The man in front of the police officer looks like he has his head down and has his arms behind his back - is he being arrested? What was the cause of the fire? I'm sure the fire department did an excellent job, and hopefully no one was hurt. The homeowners possibly had a burglar alarm system and often these systems also offer fire detection sensors. I think if I put an alarm system in my house and garage, I may add the fire detection sensors. Thanks again and have a safe day. Kathy
The fire occurred in Michigan and that is a police officer in the yellow coat, it had just finished storming when the call came in. It happened during the day so no one was home in the neighbor hood so when someone finally discovered it flames were already showing from the first floor windows. Factors that didn't help was the strong wind and the lack of manpower during the day for the fire department. Fire department did an excellent job saving the exposure house on the C Side.
The person's yellow coat looks like a British coat, was this in England? What happened that the whole, huge house is on fire to such an extent? No firefighters on scene, why were they called so late?
