An early morning fire Friday at the Sid Crockett farm destroyed several antique tractors housed in a wooden shelter. Members of the Wytheville Fire Department arrived at the historic Peppers Road farm around 1 a.m. to find the shed fully engulfed by flames.
“We worked to keep the fire away from the barn which was about 4 feet away and full of baby lambs and hay,” noted fire chief Ronnie King.
