Indeed they did, as the Rescue Truck in the video that I posted (I wish I could own and preserve that rig...but somebody else is rightfully doing it). Nevertheless, as far asr Rescue/Squad bodies (the type of rigs that I love best) are concerned Gerstenslager was probably the #1 maker for the 1950/1970 period, which is also my favorite.
Take care.God bless you

Mack built some of the best fire trucks!
Hi Timothy
This is a 1967 FORD C600 series with bodywork from Thibault (and later also by Morysville). It was custom-built as a Lighting&Utility truck for Chews Landing,NJ FD. It ended active duty in the USA in 2006 at Burlington,NJ FD (Hose Co#5-Neptune, livery still on it). It was purchased for re-equipment and preservation in Portugal as a typical Auxiliary Rescue, Portuguese-stile of the 60's (formar APR category). It was renamed APR 343 as a tribute to the 343 NYC bravest killed at 9/11. It is privately owned and proudly preserved at Setúbal, Portugal. It can carry 11 FFs and is fully loaded with all sorts of rescue and utility gear, mostly dating from past eras. It sports a genuine Portuguese license plate dating from 1967.
