Did resident fall victim to hoarding? A well involved single family dwelling on the 1000 Block of Providence Dr. in Brandywine Estates kept New Castle County (DE) and Delaware County (PA) firefighters and emergency personnel very busy this afternoon. Claymont, Brandywine Hundred, Talleyville and Linwood, PA were dispatched on the initial alarm. On arrival, the first in engine reported heavy smoke and confirmed that there was a victim trapped on the 2nd floor. NC County Fireboard upgraded the assignment to include ALS, EMS and RIT companies. Command requested a 2nd alarm around 10 minutes into the blaze which brought Wilmington Ladder 1, Elsmere Engine 16, Five Points Engine 17, Rescue-40 (Delco) along with stations 68,62, 55 and 61 from Delaware County. Most Delaware County companies staged on Harvey Road.
