A major house fire was reported north of Melbourne on Province Drive. Units from Brevard County Fire Rescue, Melbourne Fire Department Engine 81 first due. Engine 77, Engine 72, Truck 76, Tower 74, Rescue 81, District 70, District 74, and District 60 arrived with nearly 100% involvement of the 1st floor with fire extending to the 2nd floor and attic. Additional apparatus and crews were called in as the fire was out of control in the attic prompting firefighters to go defensive to continue suppression efforts. Cause of the fire is under investigation, but it is believed to have started by an improperly stored lawn mower
