Early on a Sunday morning while most of the town residents were just waking up the volunteer was manning the station for the third day in support of skydivers using the beach for an event. While patrolling Rickman Park on foot one of Melbourne Beach Police Officers found one of the oak trees had fallen overnight blocking the sidewalk and playground equipment. Public Works does not have anyone working weekend. The fire department was alerted, the team walked from the station and cleaned up the area. Its not all about fighting fires.
