This mint condition Great Northern Railroad caboose is the centerpiece of the Iron Goat Trail; Great Northern's original right-of-way over Stevens Pass, in the Washington Cascades. It was near this location in 1910 that 110 people in two trains were swept to their deaths by an avalanche, near the now non-existant town of Wellington. Though the event has been mostly forgotten over the years, debris from the incident still litters the valley floor.
