My Lieutenant Helmet. I served on L2, Division 4 from about 1994 to 1998. L2 is at the Western Avenue Fire station (The Big House) with Engine 3. There had been a large red circle painted at the top of the crown of the helmet to designate me as a ladderman. I must have painted it black at some time after I left the ladder company.

This helmet was taken out of service because of damage to the right side brim. The cracks were letting hot water down my neck all the time.
