FHFD purchased this 1982 former military ambulance from South Whidbey Fire, where it had been a rescue unit. The department's cascade system was installed in the box, along with a new blast containment chamber. Though a vast improvement over the previous trailer we owned, this rig suffered from sloppy steering, electrical problems, and from being somewhat overloaded. Most memorable was watching the driver lean out the window to yell "beep beep beep" when backing, as the horn never worked.
