My recollection is that Al went back there with Larry Callison to get the engine but it caught fire while they were trying to load it on a trailer. That was always my favorite engine at Hyattsville VFD.

I remember going to Edgewater NJ with Al Biggs years ago to bring this engine back home. They had it stored in some cinderblock garage owned by the city down on the river. It wouldn't start so it was left there. Paint was in great shape. I was almost in tears as we drove away. Couldn't understand why no one went back to get her. SHE WAS BEAUTIFUL.
