To help out the community such as volunteering time and helping those in need of the fire service.

Top Issues Facing Responders:

Emergency responders are continually facing dangers of many sorts, one of the top issues concerning health and safety is the UNKNOWN. It is difficult to protect against what ya don't know. It is equally difficult to sum up the dangers with any one being the most urgent, since all emergency responders face a multitude of urgent needs both for themselves and strangers every day. i.e. responders rushing to the aid, of thousdands of victims, faced dangers of panicking people, burning/collapsing buildings, the threat of another attack, etc... an example of the dangers that day was the inhalataion of chemicals such as asbestos and crystalline silica found in the lungs of those who responded to the collapsed buildings during NYC's terrorist attacks and died.

In all that said and done the top is issues are always the UNKNOWN.
