I have numerous hours of training in various courses and I have almost completed my degree at Broome Community College in Fire Science. It is from all the courses I have taken at school and with the fire department that I have so much knowledge in the fire service. I am also currently a certified first responder and I am working on becoming a certified EMT in the near future. I am also applying for a job as an Emergency Services Dispatcher for Broome County, NY. Why I Joined Fire/EMS
I became part of the emergency services because I wanted to help people when they need most in their time of need. I wanted to rescue people from burning building or mangled up cars and make sure that there life isn't tragically cut short. I joined because I have the courage and the bravery to run into burning buildings while other people are running out of them.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
I get to help people everyday
Top Issues Facing Responders:
I think that one of the biggest topics facing the fire/EMS service today is safety. More people die responding to and from calls then anything else and that is a proven fact. we need to reduce these numbers drastically and the best way to do that is teach people the proper way to drive vehicles to and from the scene and to and from the station which are the two times where accidents happen the most especially in the middle of the night.

Hey Tyler,
Hope you don't mind me contacting you through FFN. Fortunately this is the best way to connect with other Firefighters and it's been instrumental in allowing me to introduce an opportunity. I have been with the FDNY for close to 22 years now and worked many odd jobs to make a better life for my family. Two years ago a good friend and brother firefighter offered me a chance to start my own business in Energy. He told me, "Gather a Gas and/or Electric customer once, to a service that's Guaranteed to be cheaper than what they are presently paying ... and earn money, Month after Month after Month". I understand this sounds way to good to be true, but it is true and it is real. If you or maybe someone you know would like to earn additional income, please get back to me and I will forward the information.

Thank you, Stay Safe and hope to hear from you soon.

Taler,

I was a former member of the Vestal FD, I'm sure you know my brother Tom and nephew Dusty. I see Vestal has a new patch which looks great, I will have to give my brother a hard time for not giving me one.

Take care, John
