About Me:

Volunteering gives me the adrenaline that I can't find anywhere else. There's nothing like waking up at 2:00 in the morning and going full tilt to a house fire, MVA, or other emergency situation. I have always been the type that love's to help people.

Why I Joined Fire/EMS

I have wanted to be in emergency services ever since I could remember, I started out at 16 as an explorer. I have since worked my way up to EMR, FIREFIGHTER CERTIFIED VOLUNTEER, NREMT-BASIC. I hope one day to become career 1001 certified.

Top Issues Facing Responders:

Being a volunteer, I would have to say more respect from career responders, and the public in general. I have heard many people say : "Oh, just a volunteer." Well who do you think the dispatch center tones out in the middle of the night in podunk mississippi?, 20 miles from the nearest town, and career dept? We even get charged higher insurance rates because "the vol. fire dept. five miles away is not a real dept!", or so the insurance guy says.
