Why I Joined Fire/EMS: I joined the fire department in 1993 because of a male firefighter quoted females can not pass the fit test to get hired on. I passed and received the reward for the most physical award. In any case I did not want the job because I was a female, I like helping people and I enjoy the excitement of firefighting. It has been hard being a female on the fire department where you are not wanted but I can handle my own. I am a apparatus operator and a medic, but I enjoy the firefighting part more. I also volunteer at Wolf creek fire department.

Why I Love Fire/EMS: you are looked up to, it feels good to help others in emergencies.
