My name is Erick Washington. I am a retired Vietnam era Veteran of the U.S.. Marine Corps  third generation and  a New York City Corrections Officer. With a Associate of Science  Degree in Mental health, Bachelor's  in  Emergency Management. A few of my other Qualifications include: NASAR SAR Tech II. Technical Rope Rescue, Battalion Chief Volunteer Firefighter, Hazmat Operations, ICS ,400, Numerous FEMA courses .Wilderness First Responder, Certified National Disaster Responder, Department of Homeland Security WMD Training, Counter Terrorist Operations  , Enhanced Threat and Risk Assessment Basis and Advance. I spent several  years volunteering with the American Redcross  in various functions: Brooklyn  Disaster Action Team Leader, National Rapid  Response Team ,  Call Center Agent. Training and Exercises Instructor,Shelter Manager, Disaster Planning and Response . Additionally, I has worked various command functions :Shelter Operations  Hurricane  Ike in  Texas 2008   Two NYC Crane Disasters one the Winter of 2008 the second in May of 2008  Incident Command Post as Liaison for American Redcross and Mass Care. A member of New York Cares, Citizen Corps,New York Medical Reserve Crop,New York Search and Rescue, Area Chief with Assn-Aux-Volunteer Firefighter
