Job Function: Firefighter / EMT-Basic, First Responder, Hazardous Materials Team Member, 911 Operator/Dispatcher, Driver / Engineer

My Training:: I started as an explorer and attended a explorer academy,training on fire control 4a & 4b,R.I.C. awairness, Then became a Paid-call firefighter, training includes all of a regular firefighter class 1.

Why I Joined Fire/EMS: I always wanted to do something to help people,military was a option but then discovered the fire service,Since 2005 I have ben training and going to school for fire technology and fire service, I'm a paid-call firefighter and part time prevention specialist,.

It was an easy transition from the Ar,y to firefighting with the rank structure, discipline, training and brotherhood, it only seemed natural. Our department is all volunteer which definately has it's ups and downs, but I love it. One thing that I have noticed is that all of the buildings here are alot older in construction and style which I am sure presents a whole different style of operation and procedure, but amounts to the same thing, vent the structure and put the wet stuff on the red stuff.
