Why I Joined Fire/EMS
my name is heather..i became a firefighter 10-3-05...i grew up 2 houses away from a fire dept...i used to spend alot of time there wit my friends, since no one in my family was involed wit firefighting...the men and women there used to show us around the station and the trucks..they used to sit there and tell us stories about calls they have had and how everything works... after spending years there i knew that is what i wanted to do... never really thought about joining that station tho.. my cousin got a new boyfriend and he was envolved for years and me and her talked and she was going to join...she was trying to talk me into joining but i was still in school and working 2 jobs i knew it was going to be hard to take classes, but i joined and everything worked out wit my jobs to take the class....this year in '09 i have became 1st.lt. i am now driving the brush truck to help out wit drivers and maybe one day the engine....that is a big MAYBE...i have took the time to become an emt also in '08 and it was the best thing for me..i plan to do this as long as i can....

We spent three hours directing traffic on that call. Dispatch sent the power company to the wrong address then he drove all the way back to town before they corrected it when he got to the scene he spent five minutes there.

haha, that sounds exciting. About twenty minutes after I left the comment about no calls we got a medical.. so eh, I guess it was only modertatly slow.
Grass fires were never really my thing.. Sometimes it seems kind of pointless to try and put them out. Espcially when there isn't a house for another 4 miles.
Ah, well at least with reported structures in dnager you get the nifty lights and sirens haha. Its a little more fast paced.
Have you guys had an unusal amount of house fires this year? It seems like we've gotten a higher number than we typically have. Although I guess that would make sense, what with all the forclosures and what not.
Have you many fires in you where you live and what kind of fires take place you much and if ongelukken here everything much low construction much high flats, however, best and yes we do not have many ongelukken also a tunnel where we have temaken is 6 km long there stand up photograph of the tunnel
