We got them threw a Forestry grant for the FireWise program. They are for cleaning up brush and stuff from around houses to reduce wildfire danger to the home.

If you have or can get a hold of an angle grinder and put a sanding or wire wheel disc on it, it would pobably go a little faster. I'm a pipeliner full time(currently off the coast of Malaysia) and that's what we do to get the rust off the pipes.
  • Brian Dumser

The fire hydrant? Yeah, probably this spring when it warms up again my sons and I will start getting it ready to paint. It's not in bad shape at all. I'll have to post some pics of it later.
  • Brian Dumser

It seems to have a lot of rust (yours), but i think you'll be able to get it back in shape. It's not gonna happen overnight, but maybe a few weekends of work.

  • Brian

    Hi Aaron,
I am not sure what your asking here? Are you asking about my availability for curtain dates or what? Jim
  • Jim

Hello back Aaron, I have taugh in the weekend school in the past. I haven't the last couple years. Would be interested in teaching in it again if you have any influience in the process. As you have seen probably, I teach FF 1&2 , RT and lots of specialties including a special individual program called Rigging for Rescuers. This deals with overhead lifting, OSHA, crane use, wenches, come-a-longs, wire rope, industrial webbing, and chain Use. Also I can tie it to ladder and timber rigging that we teach only pieces parts through out the specialty rescue programs that suppliment the RT . Jim

Aaron, You have some great photo's. Will you allow me to use some of them in my teaching. jim
  • Jim

Thats not nessessary to email me. I can get directly from your ffn page if you will allow me to use some. Thanks in advance if you will allow. Jim
  • Jim

I don't know exactly what I would use at this point. I collect what I think would be interesting in perticular areas that I may not have a representative of. Then when I am updating the my general classes in fire or rescue that the state is so weak with, I will pull from and augment them to better explain to new students what I am trying to get across. Just a couple of examples of how I may use some are different wreck pic and getting the students to give a scene size up upon arrival or the same with house fires. Example of thaat would be your first house fire. First I would show the pic from the front with minor damage and then the one with the LP tank and get them thinking about the walk around they didn't do before attack. Always interested in bus pics. Anyway if you do not think this would be a benefit to students, then I just will go elsewhere. Thanks for your time if I may use them, Jim
  • Jim

    Saludos…

no Aron, I thought you were DCFD because the video mounted, Kelly M Berny is a firefighter in DC and belongs to the group rescue2training a few months ago and came to my town (Cali - Colombia)
to deliver courses with ropes, rescue vehicles and hazmat.
    sorry for my english...

Aaron, good to hear from you. Just so happens I worked for E-one when you guys got that big tanker from CW Williams. I did most of the extra work on it when I wasn't on the road for E-one. Nice Truck.
