Well I had just begun my classes when the state made the new rule about most of the classes not counting for members under the age of 18. So, therfore, I decided not to go any further with them untill they could count. However I did take and pass the "Foam Hose" class. Every Monday we have meetings and since that law was passed, one of out full members has been using that time to train the juniors int hings such as testing hose.
About Me:
Im one of those girls that are pretty much set out to prove that girls are just as good if not better than guys in anything we set our minds to do.
Firefighting being my main objective. Ive always looked up to and respected what our local firefighters do for our community and I am now proud to say I am a part of that.
Because Ive always wanted to join the fire dept. and when I turned sixteen and learned about the junior program I saw it as a way to begin my wanted carrear early. I aspire to stay on my local community Fire Dept, as well as start my EMS classes at the community college my senior year on school.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
it gives me the sense of acomplishment in knowing Ive helped out in some way or another.
Top Issues Facing Responders:
Not enough pay for the paid Dept.
And not enough respect.
