Why I Joined Fire/EMS: I first became an EMT in Texas as a high school student because I was an athletic trainer for my school. My love for emergency services grew from there
Why I Love Fire/EMS: I love to over come a challenge, can you think of a bigger challenge to beat than a burning building?
Top Issues Facing Responders:: 50% of LOOD are due to health factors such as heart attacks, strokes, etc. How do we decrease this number, yet keep the experience these firefighters bring to the service?

A lot actually. I had the chance to see how US FFs work and must say we are a good few years behind both system - and equipment - wise. However our guys are doing the best they can.

I added two pics from two recent house fires. On 2-3-08 and 2-4-08 we had structure fires with heavy smoke showing on arrival. Both times the first engine pulled a rack line and made an offensive attack. Two days, two houses, two saves. Both houses were far away from hydrants, and in areas were the fire got a good start be fore any one called 9 1 1. For a small volunteer department, I think we did a good job, and I am proud of the work we did
