We're a small Dept. so everyone has to do just about everything. I still get to clean the toilets and take out the garbage in the morning. It's so glamorous being a Captain!
About Me:: BS from University of Cincinnati, Paramedic since 1985 from Northeast Wisconsin Technical College. Taught at NWTC for 20 years. Regional Haz-Mat Team for 10 years. Tech Rescue Team. Member of IAFF L1998. Couple of terms as President.
Relationship Status:: Married
Why I Joined Fire/EMS: While in college(1977), became dissatisfied with what I was pursuing and wanted to do something that could have an immediate impact on people. Liked it from the beginning and the rest is history.
Why I Love Fire/EMS: being able to make a positive impact when people are having their worst day.
Top Issues Facing Responders:: Lack of funding from Fed., State and Local Gov.

So I went to the NFC Championship game at Lambeau Field Sunday night. Expected a big Packer victory. Very disappointed now:( Cold too. But hey, there's always next year, right?

What happened to the Packers? I actually watched that game. Mabye that's why they lost. I'm not a football fan really but I was rooting them on. Oh well mabye next year. I bet u were freezing at the game. Home was much warmer. Talk to u later.

HEY GUYS !!!!!! EACH YEAR IN MAY THE DETROIT FIRE DEPARTMENT HOLDS THE "DETROIT BURN CENTER SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT"

FIRE FIGHTERS FROM ALL OVER THE UNITED STATES COME OUT FOR THE WEEKEND, GET A GROUP OF THIER GUYS TOGETHER AND PLAY TO RAISE MONEY FOR THIS WONDERFUL CAUSE..... THERE IS AN ONSITE AREA TO CAMP OR LOCAL HOTELS TO STAY AT AS WELL

OVER THE LAST FEW YEARS THERE HAS BEEN A LACK OF INTEREST THAT I BELIEVE MAY BE DUE TO THE EVERY DAY HEAVY LOAD THAT YOU ALL CARRY IN TIMES LIKE THESE. LAY OFFS, CUT BACKS, ETC... THE TOURNAMENT SIZE HAD DECREASED GREATLY

kan jam is a frisbee game up here in buffalo where it originated their trying to expand it though type it in a search. looks kind of dumb but it gets intense. and thanks for making me jealous i love it there last year was the first year in 4 years we havent gone.

Which state was he from? Im in Brisbane Queensland. Im a training officer with Rural Operationals and do rural work (wildfires/bushfires/ grassfires) but I also do car accicents and car fires as well.. Havent done alot house fires lately thou. WHere my station is we back up the Urban stations (Urban guys do the house fires). Staty safe and looking forward to chatting to you soon

Well brisbane is In Queensland, 93% of the state is mainly rural work (bushfires/wildfires etc) The urban guys look after the house fires mainly. Its tropical weather here, hot and muggy all the time but I love it.... Queenslanders are alot more laid back compared to other states, prob cause we like to drink beer.... and lots of it....lol. Ive posted a pic on this site of some rural volunteer trucks that we have. Ive also got a site on FACEBOOK - Clear Mountain Rural Fire Brigade, feel free to have a look at some pictures on there also have some urban trucks on there (red truck) You will loike it here if you havent been here before. WEMSA was fun. The classes and speakers were great. I really didn't drink at all but that's ok. I still had fun anyway. We wanted to go see the Body World exhibit at the museum but it was full.

Hey, things are not so warm here. We started off at 73 degree this morning and now it is in e 50's,tonight it is dropping down to 36,burr!!! We had 120 golfers yesterday,tomorrow have a tourn for 140,we are cooking fajitas. Been on the ambulance at night,its been slow,kinda glad need some rest! ttys, be safe and stay alert!!

I have been on a few of those kind of runs also. Got to wonder why it need attention now! Today was a beautiful day here,not a cloud in the sky and abot 65 degrees, could of been a little warmer! I findly have a day off from the golf course tomorrow!YEA I will more than likely go to the station for a while,can not stay away from there too long. Its addicting!!!

Havn't talked to u in awhile. So how did u like all of that snow we got? I'm sick of the snow now. I belong somewhere warm, south of here. Have u had any good fires lately? We had a trailer house fire a week ago in the freezing cold. All the water turned into ice making everything very slippery. I'm sure u guys had a lot of vehicle accidents. Hey Friend, I am sooooo glad yal are keeping all that cold stuff up there! You should be use to walking on the ice, dont fall on you a**!! Hate to tell you this but i am anyway. It's been in the upper 70's like 79 degrees here not a cloud in the sky, just alot of SUNSHINE!!! Yes, i am impressed. I told you yal need to move down here!! We have been really busy at the golf course because of the weather. On the box its been slow, we had a stabbing at 2am pretty much a "flesh wound" but they think they are dying ttys stay warm
