About Me:
Other than being a Correctional Officer during mid-day, I LOVE when the pager goes off. It's music to my ears. I love the fact that I'm helping the community and get such an adrenaline rush from it. My husband and I both are on the dept. so it makes it fun too. He is my mentor kind-of. He likes to just go and work/play and sometimes leaves me hanging. We usually go our seperate ways on the fire scene. Everyone helps each other out though. I've learned a lot throughout the years. The only thing I will not do is drive the trucks. I hate driving trucks. It's just a thing of mine. I am one that is ALWAYS eager to pack up and go in; and most of the time I do. Everyone on our dept. has their certain things they like to do and some do all. We are not an organized dept. where we all have certain assignments because we never know who is going to show up, if any. I take great pride in what I do and I will never give it up for anything.

Why I Joined Fire/EMS
I became a part of emergency services because the medical field has always intrested me ever since I was younger. When I was younger I thought I would be a doctor but the amount of schooling didn't appeal to me so EMT it was. I do this part-time as a hobby. My husband is also an EMT-IV Tech and a Firefighter part-time.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
I like to help people who are in need.
Top Issues Facing Responders:
I think one of the top issues for our dept. is definately lack of funding for new apparatuses. We need newer trucks. We spend lots of time repairing the older ones. I just think we need to find somebody who is experienced in writing grants. That would make a huge difference.
