Top Issues Facing Responders:: income and pay structure. As the younger generation starts to think about their future they may not be interested in this career path due to the low income. The hours of school that is required almost makes it not worthwhile

Were you in search and rescue while in San Jose? The area has changed a lot since then. I used to sell construction tools out in San Jose, and still the skyline continues to change. Thanks for the add. I like this site, it has many women in the trade here as well, which is great!

That is hot. I am not sure what I would do with temps over a 100. I am used to the 70's being the hottest here. We have had more rain this yr than we have had in a while, so our forest fires have been minimal.

Thanks for explaining, problem with so many short forms in fire/ems talk. If you not from that area, sounds scary... I just finished my 4 days and off for 3. Weather has broken to what looks like rain, but still no rain. Been good around here, had one bike vs john-deere with a trailer. Both people on the bike where very lucky, guess they decide to pass the tractor as the tractor was turning left into a field. Driver of the bike he was kind a funny, "did I hit something?" Lucky both had good brain buckets on.
How goes it down there for you?

Hey Christy, I still have pics of my little firefighters and now I have pics of them today as seen on my profile. Im on the left my oldest far right, my youngest to my right and the middle kid is one who has adopted me as his dad. I tell folks how proud I am of them, and I guess it shows here. You know they could be doing and thinking about things that are a lot worse.
