i feel the government is getting to involved training and all which is necessary but, making it hard to get funds, thus making the volunteers have to work harder at fund raising, also i feel if a department gets a grant they shouldn't be eligible for a few years to let other departments to get some funds
That is a good line from Hillstreet Blues, but how many of the kids remember that show. I don't even think it on reruns anymore. Nic at night does't have it on. And life is to short, live each day as it may be your last. Have fun in life - be a firefighter.
Check out the some of the Groups, I have started up "Close Calls" an area to tell your story of what you did and should not of so others learn. "Roll Calls" this is another group that allows you to tell us about your station and district. "Trainers Corner" is another area that you can read about issues other trainers have or deal with. As well if your not a trainer you can ask questions or state concerns you have. If you have a hard time locating them just go to my site and look at the bottom left hand corner.
I thought that I was the only one that was old enough to remember Sgt Phil Esterhaus and Hill Street. Nice tip. If you're ever in Wellsboro, stop by...
I like that, about how the ice only goes to the bottom. Well I'm heading up north tomorrow for a week of fishing and then back up in Oct. for 3 weeks of Moose hunting. So the only fire I will be fighting is the camp fire....
Be sure to check out the groups page to find some that may relate to you, easily post/upload pictures and videos, start discussing topics in the forums, write your own blog and of course, invite all of your friends and fellow responders to Firefighter Nation. You can use the 'invite' tab at the top to send a note to you e-mail contacts, or post a bulletin on your MySpace or Facebook profile.
Have a great weekend and thanks again for being part of our social network!
Thanks for adding me as a friend. I have a nephew in the Bushkill Fire Department. Been working on our annual fire banquet and putting together a slideshow of our department's history. Hopefully it will all work out.
thank u, hard times lately.. wife dealing with cancer and i probably will have to have right ear drum surgery ( again) last time 1978..blew on a call..fixed..but that was 29 yrs ago...later dude...
No fish spoil, I'm back and it rained... You know what happens when your go out with a bunch of guys and it rains. Gives them a reason to either fish in the rain and get wet or just stay back at camp and drink. All is good up North.... How goes it down there?
Well the weather really sucked, sounds as though it's going to be an early winter and a rough one.
But even rain and snow, is good if your off and not having to work or drive. 3 more weeks and then back up north for Moose....
