Good evening everyone. Sitting at home watching tv. Had my heart broken again. The guy that was really close to me told me tonight that he found someone else to be with. It hurts but I will get over it just like I did when my ex-husband left me. I just don't have any luck with guys I guess.
Thank you Jamie T's. I have been trying alot but I guess that is the reason I am trying to join another fire department just to keep my mind off of looking for someone.
things have been crazy at work and outside work for me here so this is the first time i've been able to unwind from things and get back into this group!

Since my f/t has been causing me too much stress - I am on the prowl for a new job. Spending the week beefing up my resume and searching for job openings.
I am having a frustrating week with my housemates. I rent rooms out to the two of students. The 3 of us are in university - they are working on their master's degrees and I on my doctorate. All of us are trying to finish this year.
In my experience, a master's degree is 3x's harder than a bachelor's degree, and a doctorate is at least 3x's harder than a master's degree... which leads to the premise of the conversation at my house this week.
Mind you both of my house mates are wealthy and do not have to work while in school - which makes school dramatically easier. They are use to having a cook, a maid, and driver in their homes to serve them. So neither of them are doing their chores and strewing there crap and spoiled food items all over MY HOME !
So they both have decided I am their mama, maid, concierge, driver, and entertainment, etc. etc. etc.
So my girl housemate keeps taking/using my things instead of buying her own and asking me to take her shopping and run her errands and other time consuming things because she is to lazy to go take care of things herself. Now mind you we live 4 blocks to the store - so despite her not having a car - she could walk. And we have a bus stop in my front yard - she could take the bus...
And my guy housemate had the gall to tell me today he is too busy with his school to pick up after himself and do his 15 minutes of common chores per week. (some of the same bs I heard from my girl housemate last week) As though all of us are not busy and specifically my finishing my doctorate is not important... when in fact it is substantially more work than their little degrees.
As you can see I am pissed. SO Please do not raise your kids to be entitled selfish brats.!

and a lot of Singles wander around in The Chief's Backroom Crew group - but don't make it in here... so I started a
"Singles Social Chat" in that group as well to help wrap some of those people into conversations too.
I WOULD LIKE ALL OF YOU TO ALSO COME JOIN THOSE SINGLE CONVERSATIONS !!!
and since I am monitoring that group - I will manage the group and do maintenance like actively remove all married people trolling for dates.
hey everyone! it's been too long, sorry. i went on vacay from work late february and used my time off to work a little ski patrol and get paid to snowboard all day and tend to the occasional injured skier/boarder. another awesome profession to be in, too bad it's only seasonal. just now getting home from my first shift back and man did i miss it! landed two choppers on the highway yesterday morning and popped doors on a multiple rollover explorer and extricated two critical pts. WEAR YOUR SEATBELTS!!!!! pretty exciting for my first morning back in a month and a half! a local photographer got this shot of me at an arson in one of our high rises last fall and i scored it out his collection yesterday and i love this shot so i thought id share. o btw - ill be trading that red probie shield in for a black one on april 18!!!!!!!!! stay safe everyone and hove a GREAT day! - j.
ah heck, i'll give ya this one too. you gotta love these guys! they lay their life on the line for every patient they transport. these pilots were awesome here. they came in hot, parked right next to each other, left the rotors spinning, wrapped the patients up like burritos and were gone just like that! exhilarating!!!

I believe in the brother hood of fire fighting, with out this family we could not appreciate our first family. I am looking for that someone who can understand what having a second family out side the home means to a firefighter.
I have found with myself that being with someone in the field is easier for me personally. Due to the hours, and understanding if you don't hear from me it means I'm busy not ignoring you! They can understand if you had a hard shift and well obviously share the love of the same thing! That is just me personally though. I've had outside relationships of non EMS and the drama was horrible the whole you said you'd be off at 1900 hrs ya well got a late call sorry our plans got cancelled you know what I mean?!
