The National Association of Emergency Medical Technician's and Maryland Emergency Medical Services Program have signed an Affiliation

Baltimore, MD-July 19, 2008 The National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians, Inc. (NAEMT), and the Maryland Emergency Medical Service Program (MDEMSP) desire to establish a formal relationship. The formal relationship between the associations will bring more services to its members and the community by improving communications and sharing resources.

NAEMT has over 22,000 EMTs and paramedics in the United States and worldwide, making NAEMT the largest member association of EMS workers. With focus and common missions such as EMT advocacy and education programs, the relationship with MDEMSP will prove to be advantageous for our Maryland communities.

The mission of MDEMSP is a non-profit organization that works to recognize, promote honor and encourage the state of Maryland’s EMS workers. Memberships, continuing education and scholarship programs are available.

Upon adoption of this agreement, a representative of MDEMSP on the NAEMT Affiliate Advisory Council, giving Maryland a voice in activities that affect the EMT industry on a federal level.
