In the left bunker coat pocket is a brass collapsible spanner; in the right coat pocket is my Nomex hood. In the left bunker pants cargo pocket is my Res-Q-Wrench, window punch, and fire gloves; in the right pocket a traffic vest and a Ziplock bag of exam gloves.
Over 19 years volunteer and 12 years as a paid firefighter, the equipment has changed over time. Currently I carry a 15' piece of flat webbing in my right coat pocket, with a leatherman multi-tool and folding spanner wrench along with my right extrication glove. Left pocket is my left extrication glove, a small flashlight, a multi-tool and a long flat head and phillips head screw driver. In my Radio pocket I carry an adjustable wrench and a roll of black electrical tape. Left pants pocket is my left fire glove, figure 8 rappelling device and 2 locking carabiners and nomex hood. Right pants pocket is my right fire glove, life safety rope and personal escape device (pre-rigged with 2 carabiners color coded. Red for anchor point and black to my built in harness) I also wear a boston truck belt with a short axe mounted with a hammer holster) available at any hardware store and a rope back with 50' of life safety rope and a 25' double locking carabiners at both ends search rope.
