UPDATE 1.14pm: A TRUCK driver has been freed from his cabin and rushed to hospital after running his semi-trailer off a bridge in Melbourne's southeast this morning.

The truck came to grief on Stud Rd in Dandenong North about 9.45am, careering off the road and into a small creek.

 

The truck collided with a road barrier and a nearby bridge, causing damage.

Definitely ruffled some feathers... I didn't have a problem with those guys working like that. Structural lids are heavy and bulky and can be more of a hindrance than a help.

One thing I liked was seeing a white-hat working! I used to work with an Ops Officer who was known to get in the back of the pumper with a plain helmet to go and lend a hand as a firie with the vols in one of his brigades.
