On the home page comments of the Extrication Group, Rick asked the folloing and added a link:-

Has anybody tried useing a method called the oyster cracker? If so how easy and useful is it in the real world? Here is a video clip of this method it in action

I've only done it once in a training drill. (I also think it goes udner a few different names).

Interesting technique, but I'm struggling to think of a scene I've been to where I could have, or had to consider to use it as an option.

But as I and others have often said on these forums, it's great to have yet another option/technique at your disposal....

I have never used it but it definitely looks like another technique to practice and have at you disposal if the time comes where you might need to use it. Thanks for the link demonstrating this technique.
last month we were training and unknowingly used this technique, It was nice to see the link and i can show everyone what we did vs what they are showing . they were very similar, and some issues (questions ) raised in the post drill critique were addressed by some minor changes to what we were trying. Additionally check the fireengineering .com site for some othe advanced extrication techniques in they're traing video section
Never used it in anger but a very viable technique.Under some circumstances you could likely use a high lift jack if you didn't have a ram handy.
