We have two engines with the computer controlled pump. A 2004 E-One with a Hale pump and a 2008 Pierce with a Waterous pump. Is there any way to gate down individual lines? I have tried on both, set at RPM and pressure modes and whenever I gate one back the computer resets it to pump pressure. This is aggravating when you need to reduce pressure on one line.

Am I missing something? I don't know where the chief has hid the operators manual.

Can't you partially close the valve on the line you want reducing the pressure to what you desire?
I've tried that but the computer senses the change and resets the line to pump pressure.
None computerized are better.

The unit has a master gauge, this identifies pump pressure. Each discharge should have a gauge even if the master gauge showes 200 PSI each discharge can be regulated by closing the discharge valve.  Your master gauge could show 200 PSI the #. 1 preconnect can be set at 130 PSI and # 2 preconnect can be set at 160 PSI. You could even have another 2-1/2" discharge set at 60 PSI.  The Class One governor control will maintain the pressure at the master gauge at 200 PSI, Even if  one of the lines discharging water is closed at the nozzle.  (pressure applied to a liquid is equal an oppisite in all directions) if the discharge valves are set by each line the pressures will remain the same on each gauge. The Class One govenor control will throttle the engine to a lower RPM and if the line is opened again will throttle the engine RPM up to maintain the 200# master pressure.  When a line is closed during an operation no action is required by the engineer, and when it is opened again, no action required.  Let the Class One do its job.

Just Aug.

I like the old way. Don't really care for the computerized system.

It sounds like the computer and pressure gov. aren't conversing well.
