My son is considering joining the Air Force. His dream is to be a Firefighter, but the recruiter is requiring that he give five job choices. He was told that he would get one of the five. and the fact that he is already FF1 national certified would help but not guarantee that choice.
My question now is, is there a chance of "back dooring" it by going into the reserves first, or is that going to be the same route to get in as active duty?
I'm not to impressed with the idea of pick five and throw the dart. I did it 30 years ago with the Marine Corps and ended up in the Infantry instead of Tanks of course a slightly dishonest recruiter played a small part in that no doubt.
Thanks for any ideas any of you may have.
