Just like anything it takes proper planning. I am guessing that this is in response to narrow banding, this could help out with some of the decreased coverage that you will experience. Digital radio's also provide you with added benefits, such as man down, GPS, unit ID etc..... If the dept is working with a good Two-way Dealer it should all be fine. I would not suggest just going out and buying them with out consultation.

I would need to know more about the current infrastructure and how it is used. To give you in-depth info.

yes it has some to do with narrow banding. have you used p25? if so what kind of radio did you use and do you use it now.
