I just moved to Columbus, Ohio from Loudoun County Virginia. I have been volunteering in VA for almost the past 3 years, first as an EMT and then went through fire school and got my FFI/II certs last fall. I absolutely fell in love with volunteering and the fire department-it was the biggest reason why I considered not moving to Ohio, but couldn't turn the job down. Problem now, is I can't find a place to volunteer out here. I'm wondering if anyone from the area knows of some place that has volunteers. I asked a FF from my township, but I was told Delaware County (my county) is all paid. Can anyone help? I will be heartbroken if I can continue with my fire/rescue volunteering!

Hey Rick just to let you know not all of Ohio is paid. I am on a paid on call volunteer dept, but we have several dept. in the area that are true vol. dept that dont get paid for there time.
Most big city depts in Ohio are paid you need to get out in the rural areas to find the volunteers.
