Hi, I need a little help. We currently use Minitor IV pagers UHF. Service is a problem here. A) Motorola Dealer only wants to send them to the "Depot", Now they do not support them. B) Local repair can not seem to get them repaired right ( we are limited to local repair person ). Has anyone used those flat rate pager repair (mail)? If so was outcome good? And what other pagers do you use other than Motorola? Having service is of great importance. This is cutting into our budget. Thanks for our help in anvance.

My understanding (at least here in Manitoba, Canada) is that all Minitor IV and V pagers must be sent back to Motorola (in Texas?) to be repaired and the turn-around time is measured in many-months. For this reason, we are continuing to repair and service the Minitor II and III pagers through our local shops, although it is getting harder for them to get the parts for the II's.

We are looking at other pager brands because we have heard that Motorola is getting out of the business of pagers altogether. Not sure on the validity of this, but we are definitely interested in seeing what everybody else is using. Our province-wide 911 won't go to cell-phones, at least not yet, so that is out for us for now.

Thanks, We are limited on repair shops. Now they do not support Minitor IV at the depot any more. Just a way to get you to buy new ones I quess.
Our Minitor4 are getting old when they brought out minitor 5 (motorola depot) that is when they quit supporting Minitor 4. We are open to an alterative.
On our dept, if Motorola is in town, our fire chief will make a page saying if we have any problems with our pagers to come to the station. We have two pagers. the Minitor IV and the Minitor II. But that is the way we do it in Texas.
