My N5A is a 2005 sized medium.  When I first got it it fit loosely as was expecting so I could grow into it a little, if I had to much hair, etc.  Well the hat fit fine over the years until a job last year where I was on the knob and saw a fair amount of heat and water, etc.  It fit great up until that, then the thing seemed to shrink up tremendously until I wore it until I started sweating and then it's swell to it's previous perfect fit.

This is frustrating, I don't want it to be a PITA to wear until it gets comfortable every time.

Has anyone else had this experience?  I'm thinking of getting one of those helmet stands to keep the shape while it dries.

Thanks.

Get a helmet stand and also try replacing your liner. And inside the N5A and N6A there is a plastic ring that does absolutely nothing to the helmet. My guess is they needed to make the helmets cost more so they threw it in lol. Take that out and see how it fits. I will say it definately adds some extra space.
that plastic ring is there to size the helmet to you, since they dont manufacture the helmets to an exact size anymore. it comes in very handy if you do not use your ratchet.
After 11 years of wearing a leather I finally know the use of that little plastic ring lol. Thank you Joel. The stuff you can learn after so long lol.

Stay safe man
