I have G5As(2007 /2008), Old N5As(1988/1990) and a newer (2008) N5A.

I weighed the new N5A and one of the G5As at work ( work in the sciences). The newer N5a weighs ~500 grams more than the G5A. (Both with Bourkes). Thats abount a pound more than the G5A. 1000grams=2.2pounds

I think the G5A fits much better than the new N5As. That being said, I also removed the stupid pad and ratchet from the N5A and trimmed the earflaps to the original length like the old N5As. It fits pretty well now. Doesn't sit as low as the G5As, but almost. Don't know why Cairns had to screw with the old N5A formula. It worked for me for 20 years. Had to retire them, eventually.

I wear the G5As as much as I can get away with. You know how the safety Nazi's can be.
