best way to clean the regulator?

I like Scott packs and masks because of the visbilty, simplicity and adaptability. One of the criticisms I hear is that the regulator is difficult to steralise and clean after people breathing in them. Does anyone have suggestions?

Warm light soapy water...Scott has there own cleaner...I use just a couple drops of disinfectant soap, Don't use bleach because of the rubber inside.
