New SAR team??
Hi,
I am a member of a SAR team, but they are located about an hour away from me as we do not have a local team. our county (at one time) was talking about starting one, but i haven't heard anything more in over a year about it. so i am wondering, how would one go about starting a new SAR team? i am in ny state.

Hey there... I am sure you have already had your question answered, but in short, start with your local Sheriff's department. Determine needs, liability assessment, type of service needed and thus rendered. Generally you'd be covered under the County Law Enforcement though... not often, will a private company work.
