Yantic Fire Engine Company #1 org 1847. We are located in the Yantic section of Norwich CT. We are one of the oldest continuous operating Volunteer departments in the state of CT. We were put into service by the mill owner to protect his village. We have had over 1200 member since day 1. Right know we have about 55 active members, operating 3 engines, 1 heavy rescue, a light rescue/service, 1 Haz-mat trailer and a 14’ boat. We will run about 700+ this year. We cover a mixed district - industrial, residential, and some farm land, with about 25.000 population.
