North Shore FD covers 7 communities in NE Milwaukee Co WI. 120 full time members running out of 5 stations covering approx 30 sq miles with a resident population of about 70K. Transient population is much higher due to our shopping corridors and interstate freeway. We also have the distinction of covering the most populated 1 sq mile in the State of WI
We run 6 engines, 2 trucks (used to be 5 & 3) 3 ALS & 2 or 3 BLS Ambos depending on staffing. We also cross staff 2 of the BLS and 2 of the ALS units as well as 2 tankers for our non-hydrant area.
We are on pace to do 6000 runs this year, the past few years have ranged 5600-5900.
