20 years after leaving active firefighting, I find myself back in the saddle due to a severe lack of qualified personnel. Stepping up from simply a fire ground photographer to Asst. Chief in one move. I know that the active duty force out there looks a lot like me nowadays...as one Chief puts it...my fire truck looks like it came from the retirement home, not the fire house. Lots of gray/silver hair on board. Lets talk about the whys and search for a solution. Theres a lot of experience in them gray hairs!
