Just thought I'd ask the question, What "RIG" are you running? I use a Kenwood TM-G707 for my mobile and both a Yeasu VX-5R & Kenwood TH-G71 as my handhelds.

Yaesu FT2500m in the truck
Icom W32A, Yaesu FT50R, ADI UHF for the hand helds
Kenwood TS120S, Kenwood TS50, Icom IC751 for HF at home or portable
Icom 2700H in the shack
Have a RigBlaster Plus that I use for HF Digital Modes with the TS50.
Have VHF only on the truck but at the house have a G5RV for 40m thru 10m, a dipole for 17m, and Inverted V for 75m, and an Inverted L for 160m as well as a couple of VHF/UHF verticals and a VHF Beam.
And yes it all can be run off of battery so when the next huricane hits Ohio I am good when the damn power is out for 6 days! (I Hate Ike!)

Icom V8000, Icom 2720, Icom 92AD (My New DStar Toy!), Yaesu VX-7R, Motorola MT1000, HT 1000, HT 600 & M216 and arriving soon Syntor 9000
Scanners are too many to count.
I don't have a personal rig yet (my daughters ride horses ... need I say more?). At work we use Yeasu FT-8800 in each firehouse and in each Command vehicle.
