City and volunteer EMS services seem to have more and better equipment. Private services don't always bring in a lot of money but it seems that none of it goes back into equipment even for the services that do well. I guess when a private individual is running the company the profit margin is more important. More important right now than perhaps the chance to widen than profit margin in the future. Hmmm...

I work for a company that constantly struggles with profit margins, and having enough equipment on hand to replenish what we use on a daily basis. I can understand that products that are related to EMS automatically jump in price, but one would think that the job would be easier to do if you didn't have to plead with the resourse manager to have enough stuff in stock. His usual reply is that the owner is not wanting to spend the money right now. I do have to give props to the owner that he is putting us in trucks that are high quality, and they look good. But the "inside" should look as good as the "outside". If you get what I am saying.
