I was stationed at NAS Cecil Field just outside Jacksonville in the late 1960's.  That's one humid place with lots of spanish moss.  I hail from Rocky Point.

"mmmm" nobody posting, i guess nobody from nassau or suffolk has a working computer. i was at disney last week and ran into a guy from Hamptons VFD. allways nice to run into folks from home that come to florida to spend their money. (di$ney is expensive) but the disney firehouse that "looks like a disney firehouse" is worth the trip, the squirting waterhose/fountain is cool

"Ah june" when my thoughts sway to drill team. GO MINUTE MEN of Manhasset-Lakeville. Out of all of the things i miss about long island, i miss drill team and the parades the most. (I allways thought that the teams ought to come to florida and train for the winter) so they won't loose their edge. (fat chance that will happen) at the absloute least it would be nice for a team to go on a tour down here to expose firefighters around the country to a sport that is unique to NY and Long Island.
