Does anyone have any suggestions for recue boats and/or special grants for them?
My departments area is about 10 miles from the Ohio River, but we have mutual aid with several departments along it. We also have numerous shallower rivers, streams, and lakes in the area an potential for some fairly swift water.
We've recently taken a look at our water rescue capability and found some pretty disturbing pieces of equipment and we are trying to remedy and revitalize our water rescue capability.
I'm currently the person assigned to do the research (that's what I get for being the only former Coastie in the department), and I'm looking mostly at the airboats similar to what is used in the Everglades. I am open to suggestions and comments. and all input is appreciated.
