Ok, so I know there is a bunch of stuff going on about pagers on here with juniors. So I'm going to stay clear of that topic. =) HAHA!
But, Juniors what kind of training do you get at your station or in your county?
Do you get to take Firefighter 1&2 classes, VMR and RT classes?
And do you get any "in-house" training at the station with smoke machines and air packs?
And what about Radio Communications drills??
All of these are good things to check on and see what your boundaries are.
If you want some ideas to bring up in a meeting I have a few. =)
Things that I enjoyed while I was a junior and training that I feel like made me the firefighter I am today.
And no by no means do I think I am at my best, I am still learning. If any firefighter tells you that they know everything there is to know about firefighting. They are lieing. Because nobody knows. If they did we wouldnt be having firefighter fatalities everytime we turn around. And we wouldn't have to go on any fire calls because we could inform everybody in our communities how to put out the fires them selves.
Hope everybody has a wonderful 4th of July
Stay safe. And don't play with fireworks.
Just because your a firefighter don't mean you can play with fire. =)
